Description: Since the first description in 2003, BP-ONJ is a growing clinical problem. Even though an increasing number of case reports and articles has been published, a clinical standard has not been established. This workshop will discuss the relevant literature with special regard to imaging and prophylaxis and give an update of successful treatment concepts. A wide selection of cases will provide a close clinical relation.

Description: Technology in the 21st Century continues to bring amazing advances in healthcare. Wider availability of graphic computing and CAD CAM technologies is enabling better and faster treatment for patients that require prosthetic rehabilitation. To the practitioner, the array of constantly evolving technologies can seem bewildering; this information session is aimed at clinical and technical practitioners with limited knowledge regarding the integration of digital technologies within facial prosthetic rehabilitation. Ralf Gutwald- Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, University Hospital Freiburg, Germany Pascal Tomakidi- Department of Oral Biotechnology, University Hospital Freiburg, Germany Description: This Workshop will demonstrate research tools for Tissue Engineering. The first issue addresses the cell types including their immortalization and their establishment and characterization of tissue-specific biomarkers in conventional monolayer and interactive coculture cell systems as well. Further, examples for applications of the cell systems in clinically-oriented basic research, such as cell and tissue compatibility of materials or testing of biomaterials as cell culture matrix will be given. The second issue deals with the extracellular environment and its biomechanics in particular, and shows that the micropatterns of cell adhesion points and the environmental elasticity govern cell behavior. Issue three points to putative Biomimetic concepts for materials, e.g. by their bioactivation with tissue-relevant matrix molecules and growth factors. The last issue offers insides in progress, applications and limits of 3-Dimensional Constructs and Bioplotting.
